Meet the Governors
The Governing Body is made up of 14 Governors including the Head Teacher. In addition to the vicar there are 7 Foundation Governors appointed by the Diocese of Gloucester on recommendations from St. James’ and St. Eadburgha’s Parochial Church Councils. There are also 2 Parent Governors elected by the parents. The staff elect 2 Staff Governors. The Local Authority appoints one Governor.
There are 2 main committees which meet regularly and report to the main Governing Body meetings. These are: Leadership and Management including finance and premises and Learning and Development covering curriculum, ethos and publicity. There are also statutory committees which only meet if the need arises. The Governors have wide strategic responsibilities for ensuring that the education provided meets the National Curriculum requirements and that financial and administration procedures are compliant with Government regulations.
However, the day-to-day running of the school is in the hands of the Head Teacher who makes regular reports to the Governors. It is important to stress that if you have a complaint, it must first be made through the normal channels (teacher and/or Head).
